Together We Can Project

It is beginning to look a lot like Christmas  at the Line Mountain School District and any available square inch is filled with gifts.  Why you might ask.  Again this year the staff and community has come together again for the “Together We Can Project.”  Its mission is to provide a new shirt, pair of pants, and toy to children of families who say they need help providing gifts for the upcoming Holiday Season.  There were a total of 32 families which included 100 children that are being helped at the Elementary School.  People in the Staff, Grace Community Church, County Line Church, Himmels Church, and Christ Community Church volunteered to shop to fill the children’s needs list.  Ladies from Hunter Station Church obtained a grant through Thrivent Financial to add snacks to each bag.  The Gratz National bank at Herndon did a toy drive to parents could pick an extra toy for each child.  We even had people from the community this year contacting us asking how they could help.  It was another great success and I would like to thank everyone who was involved.  Beth Reed, teacher,coordinated the project at the elementary school.
