During the 2006-2007 school year, Title I remedial reading services are being offered to kindergarten, first, second and third grade students in all three of our elementary buildings. These services are Federally funded by the Title I program, which provides targeted assistance to schools with poverty levels above the school district average.

These support services are being provided within the regular classrooms. The Title I instructors support our regular classroom teachers by designing specific instruction to increase fluency, reinforce skills and assist with Kid Writing.

Numerous assessments are utilized to monitor student progress in these areas on a regular basis. This progress is reported to parents on a regular basis.

Year end gains showing the number of students gaining proficiency will be shared at the conclusion of the school year.
