The appearance of our campuses creates a strong impression on our students, their families, the staff and other visitors. Well-maintained buildings and equipment add not just to the comfort of students and staff, but to their productivity as well. The districts department of Plant Operations & Maintenance is responsible for the maintenance and operation of all district owned buildings and fixed equipment. The duties and responsibilities of the various sections within the department are as follows:
 
     
 
Maintenance Responsibilities
 
  Carpentry-maintenance and remodeling of wooden structures, cabinet construction, roof repairs, and similar activities.  
  Electrical-maintain building electrical devices including fans, motors, lights, kitchen equipment.  
  Mechanical- maintains plumbing, compressed air, exhaust fans, emergency generators, water heaters and other building systems.  
  Snow removal- remove snow and ice from districts parking lots and roads and several bus turn-a-rounds.  
     
 
Custodial Responsibilities
 
 
Responsible for the housekeeping in all facilities including routine cleaning, waste removal, window washing, carpet cleaning, rest room/locker room sanitation, and other cleaning duties. Other activities include setting up/ tearing down facilities for special events, moving furniture, locking and unlocking buildings, and assisting the public using the facility. Grounds keeping, athletic field maintenance and preparation, walkway cleaning and snow removal.
 
     
 
Shipping/Receiving Responsibilities
 
 
Accepts delivery of all district equipment and materials, stores said items and keeps an inventory of equipment and materials. Responsible for inter-district deliveries and courier services.
