Line Mountain Food Service offers a variety of nutritional foods to all of its students. It is the goal of our lunch program to meet the nutritional requirements mandated by the Department of Education. Each lunch menu provides no less than 475 calories, 2.5 Mg iron, 200 Mg calcium, 150 RE vitamin A, 11.25 Mg vitamin C, 6.5 G protein, and no more than 30% total fat and 10% saturated fat. We currently use a software program to monitor all our lunch menus in order to meet all the requirements. Once every five years we are reviewed by the Department of Education to ensure that we are following those guidelines. Our most recent review was in December of 2001. We are very proud to say that we are meeting all the necessary requirements.

We also serve breakfast at all buildings. We believe that our students will learn better if they have a nutritious breakfast.

Ala Carte items are sold at all buildings. The Elementary program is more limited than the Secondary in order to promote consumption of the main meal instead of buying snacks. At the Junior/Senior High School level we offer a larger variety of ala Carte items in order to meet the caloric needs of today’s teenagers.

We invite you to join us for breakfast and/or lunch. You can also stop by and obtain a free nutritional analysis of that day’s menu.
